Operations Manager - Salem, SD


Buhler Industries Inc., a leading and growing manufacturer of farm equipment, is currently accepting applications for a qualified Operations Manager.

The successful candidate will plan, direct, and control all activities of the Division to accomplish budgeted financial objectives. Be responsible for overall plant operation and organization’s facility. Implement plant policies and procedures. Establish and maintain community relations. Foster a well-trained and motivated staff. As Operations Manager you will have at least 7-10 years of manufacturing experience, which includes supervisory responsibility.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer of Buhler Industries Inc., the incumbent primary responsibilities are;

  • Direct and coordinate plant operations within company policies and procedures
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including co-sharing the Workplace Health and Safety Committee. To ensure adequate programs are in place for all safety training
  • Meet plant production goals, cost targets, and delivery schedules
  • Provide direction to production, parts & service, human resources, shipping, purchasing and all aspects of trucking
  • Responsible for establishing production schedules
  • Schedule and conduct plant meetings
  • Responsible for product quality and continuous improvements
  • Assist human resources regarding salaries and hourly wages
  • Plan for capital purchases regarding production equipment and vehicle and truck fleet
  • Assist marketing in costing and pricing of product

This is an ideal position for a highly motivated individual who has drive, intelligence, self-confidence, and determination. You must possess strong planning skills and the ability to effectively manage deadlines while multi-tasking daily priorities in a fast paced environment. Some travel will be required. The ideal candidate will be a team player with strong leadership and superior organizational skills
